Lean Operations Monitor — Privacy Policy

Lean Excel Solutions ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data within the Lean Operations Monitor Excel Add-in (the "Add-in"), including for users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and California, who have specific rights described in Section 6. 1. Local workbook processing

Free calculators (OEE, Takt Time, Pareto) and Lean Ops Pro analytics run in the Excel task pane. Workbook values used for analysis are processed locally and are not uploaded to our servers as shop-floor storage.

• Free features: No account is required. We do not require login to use OEE, Takt, or Pareto.
• Workbook data: Production logs and reference data for Pro remain in your Excel file unless you choose to share the file yourself.
• Internet permission: Microsoft AppSource may label the Add-in as able to send data over the Internet because the task pane loads over HTTPS and optional Pro sign-in/billing calls our services. That does not mean worksheet content is uploaded for analysis.

2. Account and Lean Ops Pro (optional)

If you upgrade to Lean Ops Pro, you sign in with Microsoft, Google, or email so we can verify your subscription. Account and billing data may include email address and subscription status.

• Authentication: Handled via Microsoft identity, Google identity, and/or our auth provider (Supabase). A session token is kept in your browser’s local storage inside the task pane so you stay signed in — this is not used for advertising or tracking.
• Payments: Processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Paddle’s privacy policy applies to payment and tax invoices.
• We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

3. Who processes your data (sub-processors)

The following third parties process personal data on our behalf, strictly to provide the Add-in:

• Supabase — authentication and subscription-status database.
• Paddle.com Market Limited — payment processing, tax collection, and invoicing (Merchant of Record).
• Microsoft (Entra ID) — optional Microsoft sign-in.
• Google — optional Google sign-in.
• Our transactional email provider — delivers sign-up confirmation, sign-in code, and password-reset emails on our behalf.
• Vercel — hosts the Add-in’s task pane files.

4. Data retention

We keep account and subscription records (email address, subscription status, billing interval) for as long as your account is active, and for up to 7 years afterward where needed for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. You may request earlier deletion under Section 6, subject to those legal obligations.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The Add-in does not use advertising cookies. It uses browser local storage inside the Excel task pane to keep you signed in between sessions (see Section 2). You can sign out at any time from the Account panel, which clears this session data.

6. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@leanexcel.com from the address on your account — we will respond within 30 days. California residents also have the right to know what categories of data we collect (see Section 3) and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights; we do not sell personal information.

7. International data transfers

Lean Excel Solutions is based in India. Using the Add-in may involve transferring your data to servers or sub-processors located outside your country, including the United States and European Union. Our sub-processors (Section 3) each maintain their own safeguards for cross-border transfer, such as standard contractual clauses.

8. Children’s privacy

The Add-in is a workplace productivity tool and is not directed at, or knowingly used to collect data from, individuals under 16 years of age.

9. Product analytics

We do not currently collect product-usage analytics from the Add-in (for example how often a calculator is opened). Telemetry, if added later, would not include worksheet cell values or file names. Hosting providers may record standard server logs.

10. Third-party libraries

The Add-in loads Microsoft Office.js to interface with Excel. Microsoft’s privacy policies apply to that library.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version with a new "Last Updated" date.
